Cosmetic Brow Tattoo
Cosmetic Brow Tattoo is a semi-permanent procedure, implanting pigment into the upper epidermal layers of the skin to create a full, defined, beautifully shaped brow. You have the choice of Microblading/Feather Touch, Ombre or Combination techniques to tailor a brow that works best for you.

Microblading
Microblading or Feather touch is a technique used to create ultra fine hair-like strokes, that mimic your natural hair growth & pattern resulting in full natural brows.

Ombre or Shading
Ombre or shading is the latest trend in the cosmetic brow tattoo game! This airbrushing technique mimics the effect of a powdered or pencilled brow. The term ‘ombre’ refers to the brows  being full and defined through the tails while fading out to a lighter soft finish through the front of the brows. This is perfect for those who love the result of Henna tint, wear makeup daily or those with oiler skin types.

Combination
Want the fullness of the ombre but still want a natural looking brow? The Combination technique is for you! Our most popular option uses both Microblading & Shading to give you full definition through the end of your brows with natural hair strokes through the front.

Before the Procedure

It all starts with a good canvas! The eyebrow area must be healthy, strong, non-sensitive, and non-irritated. Here’s how to get your skin ready for the procedure:

  • Do not pick/tweeze/wax/perform electrolysis one week prior to the procedure.
  • Do not tan two weeks prior to the service, or have a sunburned face.
  • Do not have any type of facial 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
  • Do not work out the day of the procedure.
  • Do not have botox 3-4 weeks prior to the procedure.
  • Do not take Fish Oil or Vitamin E one week prior to the procedure (they are natural blood thinners).
  • Do not wax or tint your eyebrows 3 days prior to the procedure.

In order to avoid excessive bleeding and poor colour deposit:

  • Do not drink alcohol 24-48 hours before the procedure.
  • Do not consume coffee before your procedure.
  • Do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen for pain relief (these also thin the blood) at least 48-72 hours prior to the procedure. (Tylenol or acetaminophen's okay!)
  • Do wash your hair the night before or the morning of your treatment as you need to take extra care not to get your brows wet for several days.

The Day of the Procedure

  • Gently blot the area with a clean tissue to absorb excess lymphatic fluids. Do this every 5 minutes for the full day until the oozing has stopped. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids.

After the Procedure

Days 1-7

Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton bud and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over-apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. The ointment should be barely noticeable on the skin. NEVER put the ointment on a wet or damp tattoo.

Important Reminders:

  • Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep.
  • Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally fall away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour.
  • No facials, botox, chemical treatments or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.
  • Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure or sun tanning for 4 weeks. Wear a hat when outdoors.
  • Avoid long, hot showers for the first 10 days.
  • Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.
  • Avoid face-down swimming, sauna’s, and hot tubs for the first 10 days.
  • Avoid topical makeup and sunscreen on the area.
  • DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.

Important note about showering:

Limit your showers to 5 minutes so that you do not create too much steam. Keep your face/procedure area out of the water while you wash your body.

Healing Stages
Day 1: Brows will look textured, slightly more dramatic in appearance than normal. They will be tender, slightly swollen and you may even experience some minor bleeding.
Day 2: Brows will appear quite dark, bold and thick and can look reddish in colour.
Day 3-4: The pain and tenderness will start to subside. They will still look dark and thick.
Day 5: The brows are getting itchy and a thick layer of scabbing may form and the fine hair strokes that were created may be hidden. (Do not pick the scab)
Day 5-7: This is the scary time period when the scabbing will begin to peel away from the skin.
Day 7-10: The scabs will probably have flaked off or be flaking off on their own by this point. The brows may seem way too light or even grey and missing spots.
Day 14-28: Healing is almost complete. The colour and definition of the hair strokes will return at this point. The colour will begin to even out and look more natural and brow like.

Brow Tattooing typically lasts 9-18 months depending on your skin type and your after care.

*Complimentary touch up treatments expire 10 weeks after your initial tattoo appointment
